Primeiros passos
The Learning centre is where you learn the admin at your own pace. It holds a 10-chapter main tutorial, a guided tour of every admin page, and the shortcut to personalise your sidebar. You'll find it near the top of the admin sidebar, beside Overview and Subscription.
Who can use this
Club admins and moderators. The Learning centre only writes your own progress and preferences, so it never changes anything for anyone else. A chapter or tour for pages your role can't open, or that your organisation has switched off, is still listed, marked Not available to you with the reason (your role, or modules switched off), so you can see what exists.
What's on the page
- Your next step — one button that starts the tutorial, resumes the chapter you left, or offers the next chapter. When every chapter is finished it says so and offers Start the tutorial again.
- Tutorial chapters — ten chapters with a count of how many you have finished. Each shows its status (Not started, In progress, Finished or Skipped) and has Start, Resume or Restart.
- Tours of each page — every page tour, grouped by sidebar section, each with the most steps it can have, its status and Start, Resume or Restart.
- Your sidebar — Personalise sidebar, which opens the dialog where you choose the areas you look after.
- Reset progress — clears every tour and the tutorial so you can start again. It only affects you.
- About tours and progress — the caveats below, in short.
Step by step
Work through the main tutorial
- Open the Learning centre and press Start the tutorial. You will be offered Personalise sidebar first, so the rest of the tutorial matches the areas you care about.
- Chapter 1, Finding your way, covers the sidebar, search, favourites, the command palette, help, the Helix Assistant, notifications and your account, then visits Overview, Subscription and this page.
- Chapters 2 to 10 each walk one area, page by page: your website, members and registrations, communications, competitions and teams, money, safety and operations, facilities and programs, committee and business, then setup, integrations and reports. The tutorial opens each page for you as it goes.
- Press Next chapter to carry on, or Finish chapter to stop at the end of one. Skip tour closes the tour at any point.
- To come back later, open the Learning centre and press Resume. Because your progress is saved to your account, you can resume on a different device.
Tour a single page
- Open the page you want help with and press Tour this page, beside the ? help button.
- Or find the page in Tours of each page and press Start.
- A tour you left partway through shows Resume; a finished one shows Restart.
Personalise your sidebar
- Press Personalise sidebar in the Learning centre.
- Tick the areas you look after and save. The sidebar then shows those pages first. See Admin overview for what a focused sidebar always keeps and how the My pages / All pages switch works.
Start again
Press Reset all progress and confirm. Every tour and chapter goes back to Not started. This only affects you, and it can't be undone.
Field reference
| Item | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not started | You haven't opened this tour or chapter yet. |
| In progress | You started it and haven't pressed Finish or Skip. Closing the tab partway leaves it here. |
| Finished | You pressed Finish on it. |
| Skipped | You closed it with Skip tour or dismissed the offer. |
| Up to N steps | The most steps the tour can show. Steps pointing at something absent from the page are skipped. |
| Not available to you | Your role can't open these pages, or your organisation has switched those modules off. |
| Don't show tours automatically | Stops the New here? offers. Tour this page and the Learning centre keep working. |
Tips & FAQ
- Why does a tour have fewer steps than the Learning centre says? A step whose control isn't on the page is skipped, for example an empty list or a panel your plan doesn't include. That's why it says "up to".
- Does Finished mean I've learnt it? No. A tour counts as finished when you press Finish or skip it. It doesn't measure what you've learnt, and a tour you close by closing the tab stays In progress.
- Is my progress saved on every device? Yes. Tour and tutorial progress, your chosen areas and your My pages / All pages choice are saved to your account for each organisation. The most-visited pages that also shape your sidebar are counted in this browser only, so another device can look different.
- How do I stop the New here? offers? Choose Don't show tours automatically on any tour. You can still start any tour yourself.
- Can other people see my progress? Your progress is yours: nobody at your club can see it. ClubHelix's own usage statistics count tours started and finished across all clubs, not what you personally have learnt.
- I'm on a free plan and a chapter says Not available. The pages in that chapter belong to modules your organisation hasn't switched on. Turn them on from Features and the chapter opens up.
- Can the Helix Assistant help? Yes. Ask it where to start, how to change your sidebar or how to turn off the tours.
