Donations

Accept one-off donations through your public donate page.

The Donations page lets your organisation accept one-off donations from supporters — members and the general public alike — through a public donate page on your site. Donations go straight to your own bank account through your connected payment provider; ClubHelix never holds your money. You'll find it under Revenue → Donations in the admin sidebar.

Who can use this

Donations are a Standard plan feature — on the Free plan the page shows an upgrade notice and donations can't be switched on (any donations received on a previous plan are still listed).

Club administrators and moderators can see the Donations page and the list of donations received. Changing the settings (switching donations on or off, editing the page copy and amounts) needs the Change settings permission — admins always have it, moderators only if it's been granted. You'll also need online payments set up (see Revenue → Member payments) before donors can actually pay.

What's on the page

A Donation page settings card — switch your donate page on or off, set its title and message, choose the suggested amounts, and decide whether donors can enter their own amount or add a little extra to cover processing fees.
A donations table showing every donation: donor name and email, amount (with any fee cover shown separately), status and date. Search by donor and filter by status.
When donations are on, a View your donate page → link so you can see exactly what supporters see.

Step by step

Switch on your donate page

Open Revenue → Donations.
Tick Accept donations through your public donate page.
Optionally set a Page title (for example "Support our club") and a Page message explaining what donations go towards.
Enter your Suggested amounts in dollars, separated by commas — these become quick-pick buttons.
Choose whether donors can enter their own amount and whether to offer the ~5% fee cover option.
Select Save donation settings. Your donate page is now live at /donate on your site — share the link in your newsletter or on socials.

Take a donation (what your supporters see)

A supporter opens your donate page — no account or sign-in needed.
They pick a suggested amount (or type their own), enter their name and email, and can add a short message.
If you've enabled it, they can tick the fee-cover option to add about 5% on top so your club keeps the full amount.
They pay through your payment provider's secure checkout and get an emailed receipt automatically.

Review donations

Come back to Revenue → Donations any time — every donation appears in the table with its status.
Use the search box to find a donor by name or email, or filter to just Paid donations.
Need to refund a donation? Process the refund from your payment provider's dashboard — the status here updates automatically.

Field reference

Field / column	What it does
Accept donations	Master switch. Off = your donate page returns "not found" and no new donations can start.
Page title / message	The heading and introduction supporters see on your donate page. Leave blank for friendly defaults.
Suggested amounts	Comma-separated dollar amounts shown as quick-pick buttons (for example `25, 50, 100`).
Own amount	When on, donors can type any amount between $1 and $10,000.
Fee cover	When on, donors can tick a box to add roughly 5% so processing fees don't come out of the donation.
Amount (table)	The donation itself; any fee cover the donor added is shown underneath.
Status	Paid = money received. In progress = checkout started but not completed. Refunded = paid back.

Tips & FAQ

Donate page shows "not found"? Donations are switched off — tick Accept donations and save.
Donors see "coming soon" or "not set up"? Online payments aren't ready yet — finish provider onboarding under Revenue → Member payments first.
Do donors need an account? No — anyone can donate as a guest. Signed-in members get their email pre-filled, and their donation is linked to their account.
Where's the receipt? Every paid donation triggers an automatic emailed receipt to the donor, itemising the donation and any fee cover.
Are donations tax deductible? That depends on your organisation's status (for example DGR endorsement in Australia). ClubHelix receipts are payment receipts, not tax-deductibility statements — check with your accountant.
