Website management

Features

Turn modules on or off to tailor the platform to your club.

The Features page lets you turn whole ClubHelix modules — like News, the Shop or Competitions — on or off for your organisation. Switching a module off takes its item out of your admin sidebar (and tells the Helix Assistant to stop suggesting changes that rely on it), keeping things tidy until you're ready.

You'll find it in the admin sidebar under Website management → Features.

Who can use this

Only club admins can change a feature here — the Disable and Enable buttons save the change for the whole organisation. Moderators (and superadmins) can open the page, but only an admin can actually switch a module on or off; a moderator's click is refused. Your changes only ever affect your own organisation.

What's on the page

A short intro, a reminder that the Helix Assistant can make the same change in plain English, then your modules grouped into cards that mirror the sidebar. Modules that belong to a paid plan carry a plan pill (for example Standard on Member payments, Registrations and Broadcasts). A lock on the pill means your current plan doesn't include the module — it stays switched off, its button is disabled, and an Upgrade to enable → link takes you to the Subscription page. Upgrading unlocks the toggle straight away:

  • Website management — public site search and sponsors.
  • Publish updates — news, newsletters, match reports, events, locations, photo galleries, forms and broadcasts.
  • Revenue — member payments, registrations and the shop.
  • Competitions — the whole competitions bundle (teams, clubs, fixtures and nominations).
  • User management — the members directory.

Each row shows the module's name, a one-line description, and a button on the right showing its current state.

Step by step

Turn a module off

  1. Find the module in its card.
  2. Click Disable (the button on the right of that row).
  3. The change takes effect straight away — the module's item disappears from your admin sidebar, opening its admin page returns "not found", and the Helix Assistant stops suggesting changes that rely on it.

Turn a module back on

  1. Find the module — disabled rows show an Enable button.
  2. Click Enable.
  3. The module reappears in your sidebar and its admin page opens again immediately.

Do it in plain English

Instead of hunting for the right row, click Open the assistant in the banner near the top of the page and ask in your own words — for example "Turn on News and Match reports" or "Disable the Shop for now".

Tips & FAQ

  • Some rows say "Coming soon". A module marked Coming soon is part of ClubHelix but hasn't been released on the platform yet — its toggle is disabled, its sidebar item is dimmed with a "Soon" pill, and its admin page shows a preview you can look at but not use. It unlocks automatically the moment it launches; there's nothing for you to set up.
  • A row shows a locked plan pill. That module comes with a higher plan, so it's forced off on your current one — its toggle is disabled and its admin page shows an upgrade preview. Click Upgrade to enable → (or open Subscription in the sidebar) to move up a plan; the toggle unlocks as soon as the new plan is active.
  • New modules are on by default. If you've never touched a module, it counts as enabled — you don't have to switch anything on to start using it.
  • This page starts from your sign-up answers. The What will you use? checklist on the sign-up form is the first version of this page: whatever was ticked (or unticked) there is saved against your organisation, so a module someone deliberately left off on day one shows as off here. Change any of it whenever you like — this page always wins.
  • Turning a module on later doesn't add sample content. The couple of sample news posts, events, sponsors and products a brand-new site starts with are only ever created at sign-up, for the modules that were ticked then. Enable Shop six months in and you get an empty shop ready for your own products — see Admin overview if you'd like to clear the starter content you already have.
  • Disabling doesn't delete anything. Your news posts, products or fixtures are kept safely — disabling only removes the module from your admin and stops you adding more until you switch it back on.
  • Competitions is one switch. Turning Competitions off hides Teams, Clubs, fixtures and Nominations together — they're part of the same bundle.
  • A sidebar item vanished? Check here first — it may simply be a module you (or another admin) switched off.
  • Core tools can't be turned off. Essentials like Pages, Theme and Subscription & billing are always available, so they don't appear on this page.
