The media library keeps every image uploaded to your site in one list, so you can find last season’s team photo, use it on a second page and fix its description without opening every page it is on.

Find the photo you uploaded last week
Search by description, file name or the page an image is on, and sort by description, size, upload date or whether it is used. Each row shows the picture, its description, its size and dimensions, when it was uploaded and where it is used, and where an image was taken from a photo site, its source. A Re-index button picks up anything the list has missed, such as the images a site import brings across.
Photo galleries keep their own albums and their own visibility, so members-only gallery photos never turn up here.

Describe each picture once
Screen readers read an image’s description aloud, and search engines read it too. Edit it in the library and save, or press Draft with Helix for a suggested description to check before you save it.
Focal point
Keep the subject in frame on a phone
Set a focal point on an image and banners and row backgrounds you add it to crop around that point, so a player stays in the picture on a narrow screen. The picker works with the keyboard and reads the position out in words. Changing the point later affects new uses only, and the library tells you how many places already use the image.
Safe to tidy
Delete only what nothing uses
The library checks your pages, news posts, events, products, sponsors and branding before it deletes anything. An image that is still in use can’t be deleted until it comes off, so tidying up never leaves a gap on your public site.
