Newsletters
Compose and send newsletters to your members.
Newsletters let you publish downloadable files — a PDF club newsletter, a season wrap-up, a printable flyer — to your public Newsletters page so members and visitors can read and download them. You'll find it under Newsletters in the admin sidebar (in the Publish updates group, alongside News).
Who can use this
Newsletters are available to admins and to moderators who have been granted the News publishing permission (news.publish) — the same permission that controls News. Admins hold this permission automatically. The section also depends on the Newsletters feature being switched on for your site; if you can't see it in the sidebar, check Features.
What's on the page
The main page lists your newsletters in a table with Title, Status, Published date, and Actions. Each row shows the uploaded file name (or a "No file uploaded" note). If you haven't added any yet, you'll see "No newsletters yet. Click 'New newsletter' to upload your first PDF." A New newsletter button sits at the top right.
Step by step
Add a newsletter
- Click New newsletter.
- Enter a Title (for example, "Newsletter — June 2024").
- Optionally add a Description — a short summary shown beneath the title on the public page.
- Optionally set a Slug, or leave it blank to have one generated from the title.
- Choose a File to upload. A PDF or an image is accepted, and a file is required when creating a newsletter.
- Leave Published ticked to make it visible straight away, or untick it to keep it as a draft.
- Click Create newsletter. You'll be returned to the list.
Edit a newsletter
- Click Edit on the row you want to change.
- Update any of the fields. To keep the existing file, leave the File field empty — it shows "Current file:" with the current file name. Choose a new file only if you want to replace it.
- Untick Published to move it back to a draft, or tick it to publish.
- Click Save changes.
Delete a newsletter
In the list, click Delete on the row. The newsletter is removed from your public page.
Email a newsletter to members
In the Actions column, Email to members takes you to a new broadcast so you can send the newsletter out to paid or subscribed members. See Broadcasts for how sending works.

Tips & FAQ
- Where do published newsletters appear? On your public /newsletters page, newest first, each with a Download link. Drafts stay hidden until you publish them.
- Can I send a newsletter by email? Not from this page directly — use Email to members to start a Broadcast.
- Do I have to upload a PDF? A PDF is the most common choice, but images are accepted too.
- Replaced the wrong file? Click Edit and upload the correct file again; only a newly chosen file replaces the existing one.
- See also News for shorter articles and announcements.
