Nominations

Open and review team nominations for a competition.

Nominations are how member clubs apply to enter the competitions you run. You open a window for a competition, clubs put their teams forward (or you record entries on their behalf), then you review each one and place accepted teams into a division. You'll find it under Competitions → Nominations in the admin sidebar.

Who can use this

Opening windows, recording nominations and deciding entries is limited to admins and moderators. Nominations are part of the Competitions feature bundle, so the page only appears when that feature is switched on — see Features.

Clubs nominating themselves use the public form at /group/<your-org>/nominations. A member can only nominate for a club they belong to: if they aren't a member yet, they're prompted to request to join it first. You can always record a nomination on a club's behalf without that restriction.

What's on the page

The page is split into three collapsible cards: Entry windows (open and list your windows), Record a nomination (enter one on a club's behalf), and Nominations received (review and decide each entry). A blue panel at the top explains the whole flow, and a link at the bottom points to your public nomination form.

Step by step

Open a nomination window

  1. In Entry windows, click + Open a new nomination window.
  2. Choose the Competition, give the window a Title and a URL Slug.
  3. Set Opens at and Closes at dates and times. Clubs can only submit while the window is Open and within those dates.
  4. Optionally set a Fee (cents) and Currency, and a Max teams / club cap.
  5. Set the Status (start as Draft, switch to Open when you're ready), add an optional Description, then click Save window.

Record a nomination on a club's behalf

  1. Open the Record a nomination card (handy when a club applies by phone or email).
  2. Pick the Window and the Club, enter a Proposed team name, and choose a Division (or leave it as "Decide later").
  3. Add Contact name / email / phone if you have them.
  4. Tick Accept immediately and add the team to the selected division to skip the review step, then click Add nomination. Admin-recorded entries don't go through payment.

Review and decide nominations

  1. Open Nominations received. By default it shows entries Awaiting decision; use the search box, status filter and sort to narrow the list.
  2. Each row shows the club/team, competition, the club's Prior result (most recent finishing division and rank), contact and submitter, and current Status.
  3. To accept, pick a division in the dropdown (it defaults to the requested one — you can bump a strong team up a grade) and click Accept. This adds the team to that division, ready for fixtures.
  4. Otherwise click Waitlist, Decline, or Withdraw (for spam or abusive entries).

Tips & FAQ

  • Set the status to Open. A window in Draft, Closed or Archived won't accept public submissions, even within its dates.
  • Paid windows send clubs to Stripe Checkout; this needs your competition's payment account to be onboarded. See Member payments.
  • "Unpaid" entries are started but not yet paid for, so they're not awaiting a decision.
  • Membership matters. Self-serve nominations require the member to belong to the chosen club — manage who belongs in Clubs.
