Website management
Build and style your public club website — pages, theme, branding, navigation and domains.
- FeaturesTurn features on or off to tailor the platform to your club.
- PagesBuild website pages from 45 section types (FAQ, training times, coaches with their qualifications, roles and vacancies, membership prices, and live lists of upcoming classes, fixtures and results, test days, passes, raffles and more that fill themselves in), with sidebars of up to 8 sections a side and up to 40 sections a page, give a section a style (Hero, Narrow, Accent band, Two columns, Full-width image), lay sections out in rows of up to four columns with spacing, in-page anchors, background images or gradients and entrance motion, duplicate a section or copy it to another page, schedule when a page goes live or comes down, compare and restore earlier versions from its version history, pin review notes to sections, show a section to members only or signed-out visitors (or only on phones, tablets or desktops), lock a section against moving, removing or editing, save sections to reuse, including synced sections that update every page at once and sections a governing body asks its clubs to place, check a page's health (images with no description, heading order, empty sections, broken links, search title and meta description) with a search-result preview, make a landing page with no header, footer or menu, hide the title, go full width, password-protect a page, review the starter pages we drafted for you (kept out of search until you publish them), duplicate a page as a draft, save a whole page as a template to start new pages from, including templates a governing body shares with its clubs, and on Pro add a translated version of a page in each of your other site languages, drafted by Helix if you like.
- Templates & regionsTemplates and regions: add sections that repeat across your site: before or after the content of every news post, event, team and programme, above your "page not found" message, in a shared sidebar beside every news post, event, team and programme, and in a band above the footer on every page. Each one is edited, scheduled and published in the page editor like any page, and shows nothing until it is published.
- Content calendarContent calendar: see a month or a week of what your website publishes and when, in your organisation's time zone: pages, news posts and events that are live, scheduled to go live or scheduled to come down, plus the day each event happens. Filter by kind and state, open any item's editor, and change when it goes live or comes down with Change time. Drafts with no publish time are listed beside it. Pages don't record a publish date, so a live page shows only when it has a take-down time.
- Media libraryYour media library: every image uploaded for your website in one list: its size and dimensions, its description (alt text), where the photo came from when that was recorded, and which pages, news posts, events and other items use it. Upload images to use anywhere, search, fix descriptions, set the focal point to keep in view when a photo is cropped, re-index images already on your site, and delete an image once nothing uses it. Photo gallery pictures are managed in Photo galleries.
- Custom fieldsCustom fields: add your own fields to events, teams and programs (text, long text, number, date, dropdown, multiple choice, yes/no or web address), fill them in on each item's edit page, and choose which ones appear under "Details" on your website. Staff-only fields never leave the admin. Free plan: 3 active fields; Standard and above: unlimited.
- Find and replaceFind and replace: search every page, news post and event for words or a link address (plain text, at least 3 characters, match case and whole-word options), see each match in context, tick the ones to change and replace them in one go. Pages are changed in their unsaved draft for you to check and publish; news posts and events are saved straight away. Locked sections and words that cross formatting are left alone and listed. "Fix everywhere" on a broken link in the page health check opens it with that link filled in.
- AI Studio and Draft with HelixAI Studio and "Draft with Helix": AI writing tools that turn your notes into a first draft you check and save. News posts, match reports, event and shop descriptions, sponsor thank-yous, About and FAQ pages, volunteer call-outs, headline ideas, search titles and descriptions, image alt text, email subject lines, members emails, social media posts, replies to enquiries, welcome emails, meeting minutes, summaries, rewrites and translation into 19 languages. Standard adds a season content plan and risk assessments; Pro adds sponsorship proposals, grant application answers and club policy drafts. "Draft with Helix" buttons sit beside the fields on the news, match report, event, shop, sponsor, media library, page settings and broadcast screens. Each draft uses one Helix Assistant prompt from the daily allowance; nothing is saved or published until you save it.
- ThemeSet your theme — colours, fonts and overall look, with optional AI help. Click any part of the mock page to edit it in the settings drawer, on a phone or a desktop, and restore any earlier version from its version history. Choose from about twenty hosted fonts (or upload your own WOFF2 on Pro), set section spacing, card shadows and borders and text that scales with the screen, and check every section kind in the Style book before you save.
- ComponentsCustom components (Pro): write your own website sections in TypeScript and React, such as a countdown or a ladder in your colours. ClubHelix checks and builds each version (network requests, raw HTML and hidden code are refused, with the file and line), you preview it, publish it and install it, then add it to a page as a Custom component section. An interactive component runs in an isolated frame on a separate domain; a static one is rendered into plain HTML in the page, readable by search engines but not clickable, appears within a few minutes of saving the page, and refreshes when the data it shows changes. Either kind reads only the public data you allow. Published versions cannot change; your own organisation only for now. The Helix Assistant can draft one for you and fix what its build reports; publishing and installing stay your click.
- Custom CSSCustom CSS (Pro): add your own CSS to your public website, site-wide from Theme or per section in the page editor. It is checked on save and on every page view: @import, fonts, outside images, position: fixed, text added with content, and attribute selectors on form fields are removed, with the reason shown. Never applies to the admin; kept but not shown if you leave Pro.
- BrandingUpload your logo and control how your club’s branding and name appear across the site.
- NavigationBuild your site navigation — header and footer variants with a choice of layouts (centred logo, split menu, one-line footer and more) and backgrounds, mega menus, top bars and sponsor strips — and pin them to pages. Click any part of the canvas to edit it in the settings drawer, on a phone or a desktop, and restore any earlier version from its version history.
- DomainsConnect your own custom domain and verify it for search engines: on Standard and above, or on Free by requesting one of 200 founding places.
- MigrationMigrate your old club website — prove you control it, bring its pages, news (with categories and tags), events, photos and Additional CSS across as drafts, and download a copy of your site. A WordPress site that cannot install plugins can connect with an application password so the import reads drafts and private pages too; it only reads, and menus are listed for you to rebuild rather than imported. A move from the WordPress plugin also brings SportsPress teams (matching teams you already have by address or name) and fixtures with results into a draft, non-public “Imported fixtures” competition whose season widens to cover them, venues as locations (new ones members only), WooCommerce products with their variants as draft shop products (skipping the Shop, Cart, Checkout and My account pages), and Polylang or WPML translations — the copy in your own language becomes the original and other switched-on languages become draft translations. Players are not copied (they would be personal records), and menus and forms come in a later update. The run shows shop products, teams and fixtures counts. Through the WordPress plugin (once switched on), Admins can bring members across as roster entries without an account — no email is sent at import — then send a claim invitation from Members, with an unsubscribe link and skipping anyone who unsubscribed; cancel old recurring subscriptions at cut-over so nobody pays twice.
- Redirects (old website links)Keep the addresses from your old website working after you move, so an old bookmark or search result lands on the right page instead of a “not found”. Shows what an import matched, what it could not, and lets you point those yourself.
- WordPressKeep your WordPress website and run members, payments, events and competitions in ClubHelix. Connect it from the ClubHelix plugin inside WordPress (sign in and approve, no key to copy), or make a one-day setup link for someone else. A newly connected site must then be confirmed by an Admin on this page (“I recognise … as our club’s WordPress site”) before payers return to it, widgets show on it or it can become the public website. See the connection’s health, what it may do and recent updates sent to it; make a confirmed site your public website (club pages here send visitors there, while joining, checkout, sign-in and member accounts stay on ClubHelix); set up a members. address on your own domain; reconnect it when the person who connected it leaves; or revoke it. On Pro, the plugin can also send each published WordPress post to ClubHelix News (title, excerpt, image and link only) for broadcasts. Admins only. Being released to pilot clubs first. The plugin can also move a whole WordPress site to ClubHelix for review (see Migration).
- WordPress troubleshootingFix the common problems between WordPress and ClubHelix: a blocked REST API, WP-Cron not running, a security plugin or cache in the way, a wrong server clock, or WordPress blocked from contacting other sites.
- Protecting your data from scrapingKeep team rosters out of anonymous requests, ask AI crawlers to stay away, and get told when your site looks like it is being scraped in bulk. Honest about the search-visibility cost and about what none of it can prevent.
- SponsorsShowcase your sponsors and partners on your public site.
