   Membership types for one-year, multi-year and life membership, each with its own price and its own paid-until date, plus concession pricing through discount codes. The member register shows who has paid, who has lapsed and who joined in week eleven.

   Recurring events for the weekly meet-up with exclusion dates for study break, and native ticketing for the ball — tables, plus-ones, dietary fields and a door list scanned from a committee phone, all on your own site rather than a third-party ticketing page.

   Every membership fee, ticket, merch order and donation lands in one ledger dated by when it arrived, so the treasurer report and the grant acquittal come from records rather than recollection. Attendance is recorded per event, which is the number funding panels actually ask for.

Our committee changes every year — what happens to the account?+

The society owns the site and the data, not a person. Access is granted by role, so an outgoing president is removed and an incoming one appointed in a couple of clicks, and everything they need — members, events, files, past broadcasts — is already there. It is the single biggest reason societies move off a personal drive folder.

Can we take membership payments if the society has no ABN or company?+

Payments run through Stripe Connect against whatever entity holds the society’s bank account. Many societies are unincorporated groups under their student association, and that is a normal Stripe onboarding — general information only, and your association’s finance office is the right place to check what they require of you.

Can a students’ association manage all of its affiliated societies?+

It can sit above them in the hierarchy: association news, events and venues appear on affiliated societies’ sites, standard committee positions can be shared down, and the association gets roll-up reporting across its societies. It does not get to run a society’s admin or spend its money — cross-tenant access needs an explicit role, by design.

Is there a free option for a small society?+

Can members join without paying, if our society is free to join?+

Yes. A registration form can be free, paid, or free with an optional donation, and you can run both at once — a free general membership and a paid one that includes the ball ticket or the kit.
